Adam Schwemley
Membership Chair

Adam is a single parent who was born and raised in Alaska. Growing up in Kodiak, then on the Kenai peninsula, Adam came to develop an extreme love of the outdoors and individualism. He is a graduate of Skyview high school and went to the University of Alaska Anchorage, majoring in Fire and Emergency services with a minor focus on Outdoor Recreation and Adventure Leadership. He has been into politics since middle school but decided after years of working in the Fire and Medical service, as well as the Oilfield, that he was tired of having no one he believed in making decisions that affect us all.

It was at this point in life Adam decided you can’t complain if you don’t try to make changes yourself and decided to have a more active role in politics. He was appointed to the Alaska public office commission for one of two seats that were held by the Libertarian party. After a year and a half, the constraints of this position limited his involvement in politics, so he resigned from this position in 2018 to start a political consulting company where he worked on an Alaska gubernatorial campaign. He was elected to Membership Chair for the ALP in March of 2019, and plans to run for local office in the near future.
